Roots to Wings Initiative is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, magnification, voice control, or keyboard navigation. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What we have done
- Every image carries descriptive alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- The site is fully operable with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a skip link to the main content.
- Headings, landmarks, and lists are marked up semantically so screen readers can navigate the structure.
- Text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios.
- The page language is declared, and the Spanish version is marked so screen readers pronounce it correctly.
- Animation is reduced automatically for visitors who ask their device for less motion.
